Praetura Ventures is seeking investment for its Praetura EIS Growth Fund.
Praetura Ventures is a venture capital firm which has established its success by identifying a funding gap in the North West of England and focusing investment into fast growing SMEs.
The Praetura EIS Growth Fund will provide investors with access to a unique selection of innovative growth companies that have an established proof of concept and commercial viability.
Highlights:
- EIS fund targeting high growth and scalable businesses
- Located in Liverpool and Manchester with a focus on the North West
- Diverse and experienced team with over 250 years of experience and £8bn+ of transactions
- Investment strategy to provide 'More than Money' to investee companies by adding significant value through the team's skillset, network and experience
- The fund will be invested across a portfolio of 8-10 companies with investments ranging from £1-2m each
- Targeting a minimum return of 2x capital
- Minimum investment of £25,000
- Closing date: “evergreen” fund with two soft closes per annum (30th June 2020 and 31st December 2020; 31st March and 30th September thereafter)

Deal structure
Praetura Ventures is seeking to raise £30m per annum for the Praetura EIS Growth Fund.

Exit strategies
Praetura's mission is to develop SMEs to a position where an exit can be achieved to any potential purchaser including: trade sale; private equity; and public/private market listing.
An exit route is mapped out for every portfolio company and the outcome of key milestone is tracked during the portfolio monitoring processes. The exit strategy for each company will vary, however the target timeline for exit will be 5-7 years.

Mike Fletcher CEO, Group
Mike is former Managing Director at global investment bank GCA Altium and a Chartered Accountant (PwC). Mike is an experienced venture investor and adviser to some of the North’s leading entrepreneurs and investors. He cofounded Praetura in 2011 bringing with him specialisms in financial services, technology, ecommerce, support services and energy services.

David Foreman MD, Ventures
David co-founded Praetura with a background of over 12 years in corporate finance and venture capital. He qualified as an ACA with KPMG and has considerable experience in backing financial services and recurring revenue businesses. David has a focus on the application of data, IT and technology to enable efficiencies within businesses.

Peadar O'Reilly MD, Debt
Peadar, a founding partner at Praetura, has over 20 years’ secured lending experience having previously held senior roles at Bank of Ireland and ABN Amro. He helped establish a successful UK ABL business for Bank of Ireland and is responsible for raising over £200m of bank facilities from mainstream and specialist institutions for the Praetura group of companies. He is a founding Director of Praetura Asset Finance, Praetura Commercial Finance and Praetura Debt Co.
Rob Memmott CFO, Group
Rob is an experienced chief financial officer, with over 18 years in senior financial leadership roles. Previously Rob was Group CFO at Arrow Global Group Plc, where he co-led the successful IPO on the main LSE in 2013 and the issuance of more than £1.5bn in the debt capital markets. Rob qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG in Manchester and has served as financial director at Servisair Plc, Alfred McAlpine and Leeds Bradford International Airport.
