Roy

Roy Green Chairman

Roy Green was part of the original team, led by Andrew Paddick, which founded Broker Direct, raising funds and support from IIB brokers to bring to life the unique concept of an insurance management operation for brokers, primarily owned by brokers. Roy has led Broker Direct Plc as Chief Executive since launch in 1997.

Originally from the IT industry, Roy became a Director of Systime Computers, a DTI backed venture, which grew to be one of the largest providers of computer systems for the SME market. Over the years, he worked with Andrew on a number of IIB initiatives, including the Green's Guide to technology and Broquality, the first programme of quality management for insurance brokers.

Together with his colleagues he passionately believes in the power of IT to transform the industry and, under his leadership, Broker Direct has invested heavily in distribution and process management technologies.

   
Iain

Iain Gray CEO

Iain Gray is part of the original team which founded Broker Direct. Iain was appointed as Chief Executive Officer in July 2021.

As Company Secretary, he manages investor relations with over 900 shareholders. He is also responsible for the claims management services operation as well as group finance.

After graduating with a business degree in 1985, Iain joined Schroder Financial Management and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant. In 1989, he joined Preferred Direct Insurance as Systems & Project Accountant and was promoted to Financial Controller in 1991.

   
Kedric

Kedric Rhodes Non Executive Director

Kedric Rhodes is a successful insurance broker who established his own broking business, Sceptre, in 1971, finally selling to Country Mutual in 1999. He was subsequently appointed to the Board of Country Mutual, serving on the Board during a period of intense acquisition activity.

In 2004, Kedric was part of the team which established Ten Insurance – a successful network of Appointed Representatives specialising in commercial insurance. Kedric was appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Broker Direct Plc in 2009.

   
Ann

Ann Golder Operations Director

Ann has been in the insurance industry over 20 years. Previously with Iron Trades and AGF, she joined Broker Direct in 1997, where she was appointed as Claims Manager to set up the claims department.

Ann has since been appointed Director of Operations and is now responsible not only for the claims department but also policy services, premium administration and internal systems.

   
Barbara

Barbara Bradshaw Non-Executive Director

Barbara Bradshaw joined the fledgling Institute of Insurance Brokers on its formation in 1987, having previously working in the legal field. Subsequently appointed Director and then Chief Executive Officer in January 2008.

Barbara successfully led the IIB into a merger with the British Insurance Brokers Association in 2011, and continues as a consultant to BIBA with specific responsibility for smaller brokers. 

Barbara was appointed as a non-executive Director of Broker Direct having been involved with the company since formation.
